Atlanta, Georgia – High heat and clear skies are taking over metro Atlanta as a dry summer pattern locks in through the weekend. Friday’s highs will reach 90°F across the region, with little cloud cover and a rising UV index that could make afternoon outings hazardous without sun protection.

According to the National Weather Service in Peachtree City, northwest winds around 5 mph will keep things dry and calm through Friday. No rain is expected across Atlanta, I-75, or I-285, marking a shift from Thursday’s pop-up storms. Residents should prepare for higher heat risk and stay hydrated, especially during afternoon commutes and outdoor events.

Saturday and Sunday will continue the trend with highs of 93°F and 94°F, respectively, under mostly sunny skies. Heat indices could creep toward triple digits by Monday, when the mercury is expected to climb to 96°F. Nights will offer mild relief with lows hovering in the mid-70s.

This stretch of dry, hot weather increases the chance of sunburn and heat exhaustion. Locals are urged to limit mid-day activity, wear light clothing, and check on elderly neighbors and pets.

No severe weather alerts are in effect, but the pattern will persist into early next week. The next major change could arrive Tuesday night with a slight dip in overnight temps.
