According to the National Weather Service in Peachtree City, a Heat Advisory remains in effect from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. EDT Tuesday, with heat index values soaring between 105°F and 109°F. High humidity will amplify the heat, pushing “feels-like” temperatures to levels that could trigger heat-related illness in minutes.

Major cities under the advisory include Atlanta, Marietta, Rome, Decatur, Cartersville, and Peachtree City, with I-75, I-85, and I-20 corridors seeing peak heating just before afternoon storms roll in. Residents are urged to stay hydrated, limit outdoor activity, and check on neighbors without air conditioning.

Thunderstorms are likely Tuesday afternoon, especially after 2 p.m., with gusty winds and heavy rainfall possible. No severe weather is currently forecast, but isolated storms may cause localized flooding or power outages.
