Waycross, GA – A Freeze Warning remains in effect for parts of southeast Georgia from 10 p.m. Friday to 8 a.m. Saturday, as temperatures are expected to drop as low as 30°F overnight.

According to the National Weather Service in Jacksonville, FL, the warning covers several counties, including Coffee, Jeff Davis, Bacon, Appling, Wayne, Atkinson, Pierce, Brantley, Echols, Clinch, and Inland Camden. Cities such as Waycross, Jesup, Baxley, Folkston, and Hazlehurst will experience sub-freezing temperatures.

Residents should take precautions to protect plants, pets, and vulnerable individualsfrom the cold. Tender vegetation should be covered, and outdoor pets should have proper shelter. Children, the elderly, and homeless individuals are particularly at risk and should have access to warm environments.
