Georgia Weather Alert: Freeze Warning and Frost Advisory in Effect Until 10 AM Friday

Atlanta, GA – A cold front is bringing freezing temperatures to portions of north and central Georgia, prompting a Freeze Warning and Frost Advisory from 2 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Atlanta, areas under the Freeze Warning could see temperatures at or below 32°F, while locations in the Frost Advisory area will experience frost formation with temperatures ranging from 33°F to 36°F. Cities including Atlanta, Macon, Columbus, and Gainesville are affected.

Residents are urged to protect sensitive vegetation, pets, and exposed pipes from the cold. Prolonged freezing conditions may damage crops and outdoor plants.

Forecast lows include 27°F in Blairsville, 31°F in Rome and Jasper, and 35°F in Atlanta. The cold snap follows a cold front that moved through Georgia earlier today.
