Atlanta, Georgia – Georgia kicks off June under a dome of dry, sunny skies, with Atlanta heating up steadily through midweek before storms roll in Thursday.

According to the National Weather Service, Sunday will bring mostly sunny skies with highs near 82°F in metro Atlanta, including areas along I-285 and I-75. Wind gusts could reach 15 mph, offering brief relief from the rising summer heat. By Monday, temperatures jump to 85°F with continued sunshine, and by Tuesday, the mercury will near 86°F before peaking at 87°F Wednesday afternoon.

For those traveling or spending time outdoors, conditions will stay clear and dry through Wednesday night. However, the NWS reports a 20–30% chance of showers and thunderstorms by Thursday afternoon, potentially impacting commutes and outdoor plans across DeKalb, Fulton, and Clayton counties. The chance of storms increases Thursday night as humidity builds.

Although Canadian wildfire smoke remains present across parts of the Southeast, air quality in the Atlanta metro area is currently unaffected but will be monitored into the week.
