Georgia – Headlights glow through patches of fog across metro Atlanta right now, with visibility dropping quickly in spots and creating a slow, cautious start on area roads. The air feels mild and damp, but changes are already underway.

According to the National Weather Service in Peachtree City, patchy dense fog may reduce visibility to under half a mile early, especially in areas that saw rain recently. By early afternoon, isolated showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop across north Georgia.

Across Atlanta, Marietta, and Sandy Springs, drivers along I-75, I-85, and I-285 should watch for sudden visibility drops this morning. Conditions can change block by block. Keep headlights on and allow extra following distance during the commute.

By mid to late afternoon, storms begin to bubble up. While not expected to be severe, these cells may produce brief heavy rain, lightning, and gusty winds. Expect quick slowdowns on major routes and delays for evening plans.

Temperatures climb to the low 80s today, adding a summer-like feel. That warmth continues into Friday with highs again near the low 80s and only a slight chance of a passing shower.

The weekend turns more active. Saturday brings increasing shower and thunderstorm chances, followed by a wetter Sunday with widespread rain likely. Outdoor plans, including early April events, may need adjusting.

Early next week trends calmer, with partial sunshine and highs near 70°F returning.
