ATLANTA, GA – Georgia residents can expect a warm and sunny start to the week before rain and possible thunderstorms arrive midweek. Monday will bring above-average temperatures, but conditions shift by Tuesday night as a cold front moves in, increasing the chance of showers and storms.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Peachtree City, Monday will be mostly sunny with a high near 60°F. Light winds will shift southeast in the afternoon, keeping conditions mild. Monday night remains clear, with lows dipping into the low 40s.
Tuesday will continue the warming trend, reaching highs in the upper 60s under partly sunny skies. However, by Tuesday night, rain is expected, with showers becoming widespread after midnight. The NWS reports a 100% chance of precipitation, and some storms could produce gusty winds.
By Wednesday, showers will linger through the morning, with a 30% chance of additional rain before midday. Skies will gradually clear, leading to a high near 67°F. Wednesday night will be mostly cloudy, with temperatures falling into the upper 30s.
Thursday will bring cooler, drier weather, with highs only reaching the low 50s under sunny skies. The cooldown continues into Friday morning, with lows in the mid-30s before temperatures rebound into the 60s by the afternoon.
Residents should monitor weather updates for any changes, especially as the midweek storm system approaches.
