Atlanta, Georgia – Damaging winds up to 60 mph and isolated hail could sweep across parts of western Georgia late Sunday evening as a line of storms pushes into the region overnight.

According to the National Weather Service in Peachtree City, a Slight Risk (Level 2 of 5) for severe weather now covers areas including Rome, Carrollton, and LaGrange, with a broader Marginal Risk (Level 1) stretching eastward toward Atlanta and Macon. The window of concern extends from 7 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday, with damaging winds listed as the primary threat.

Motorists on I-20 and US-27 may encounter dangerous driving conditions overnight due to sudden gusts and reduced visibility. Scattered power outages are also possible in areas with older infrastructure or saturated ground.

Residents in the highlighted zones should secure loose outdoor items, charge devices, and remain weather-aware through the evening. While the tornado risk is low, isolated large hail is possible, especially in west-central Georgia.

This system is expected to move eastward by early Monday morning. Additional updates or advisories may be issued if storm intensity increases overnight.
