Atlanta, Georgia – Georgia ranks among the higher states for UFO sightings per capita, with one report for every 1,260 residents, reflecting consistent reports of unexplained aerial activity.

According to Casino.ca’s annual UFO sightings analysis, Georgia places within the upper tier nationwide based on data collected since 1974. The rankings compare total sightings against population, identifying where reports are most concentrated.

Thousands of sightings have been recorded across the state, with reports spanning metro Atlanta, Savannah, and rural parts of northern and southern Georgia. Researchers say the state’s mix of dense population centers and open sky visibility contributes to steady reporting levels.

Georgia is linked to several notable cases. In 1973, multiple witnesses across the state reported glowing objects and unusual aerial activity during a broader wave of sightings across the Southeast. In another instance, residents near Atlanta have described clusters of bright lights moving in formation before disappearing abruptly.

More recent reports included in national databases describe hovering lights, sudden directional changes, and objects traveling at speeds inconsistent with conventional aircraft. None of the sightings have been confirmed as extraterrestrial.

Researchers point to Georgia’s growing population, active airspace, and public awareness of reporting platforms as factors contributing to its elevated rate.

Nationwide, the average chance of reporting a UFO sighting is estimated at about 1 in 1,700, placing Georgia above average.

Sightings are most frequently reported during nighttime hours, particularly by commuters, residents, and night-shift workers across urban and suburban areas.

Georgia’s ranking reinforces its position as a consistently active UFO reporting state in the United States, according to the latest annual data.
