Atlanta, GA – The Southeastern U.S. looks set for a mild, comfortable start to November—but could a late cold front bring an early hint of winter before Thanksgiving? The latest outlook from the NOAA Climate Prediction Center (CPC) says probably not, but the region isn’t entirely in the clear.

According to NOAA’s October 24, 2025, update, above-normal temperatures are forecast across Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Alabama, with below-average precipitation through mid-November. That points to a quiet, dry pattern, ideal for travel but unlikely to produce any early-season snow.

Still, forecasters note that late-November fronts can occasionally drop temperatures fast, especially across the North Carolina mountains or northern Georgia foothills, where a brief cold snap could bring frost—or even a flurry—if the timing lines up near the holiday.

Overall, the Southeast is expected to stay snow-free through Thanksgiving, trading snow shovels for sunny skies and lighter jackets. But as meteorologists often say: in November, “patterns can flip in a week.”
