Warner Robins, GA – The Houston County Sheriff’s Office is reminding families to keep Halloween safe and fun tonight as kids take to the streets for trick-or-treating across the county.
Deputies shared a list of safety reminders Friday, urging parents and children to walk on sidewalks and crosswalks, make sure costumes are visible, and carry flashlights or glow sticks to help drivers see them.
Parents are encouraged to inspect all candy before kids eat it and to stick to well-lit homes and neighborhoods while trick-or-treating.
For drivers, deputies ask that motorists slow down in neighborhoods, stay off their phones, and watch closely for children who may cross unexpectedly. “Excited kids might dart out without warning,” the post noted.
The Sheriff’s Office added, “Let’s make sure this Halloween is full of treats, not tricks!”
Weather conditions are expected to remain clear and cool for much of Middle Georgia tonight — ideal for outdoor festivities.
