According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a wooded area in the 6000 block of Harrison Road around 9:30 a.m. on August 31, 2025. There, they found 46-year-old Nelson Reynolds Crenshaw of Fort Valley unresponsive with a gunshot wound. Paramedics transported him to a local hospital, but Chief Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley confirmed he later died from his injuries.
During the investigation, deputies identified Timothy Alan Hurt of Macon as the suspect. The U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Taskforce located and arrested Hurt without incident. He was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center and charged with murder. Officials said Hurt is being held without bond.
