Atlanta, GA – Dense fog blanketed areas near Atlanta and Peachtree City early Saturday, posing challenges for morning commuters on major routes like I-75 and I-85. The National Weather Service issued an advisory in effect until 9 a.m., urging drivers to be vigilant as visibility dropped to below half a mile in places.

According to the U.S. National Weather Service, many regions, including metro Atlanta, experienced significantly reduced visibility. The advisory highlights a potentially hazardous morning for those driving in fog-prone zones. Motorists are advised to reduce speed, use low beam headlights, and maintain safe distances between vehicles to prevent accidents.

Saturday’s forecast projects a gradual clearing of fog after 10 a.m., giving way to partly sunny skies and a high near 80°F. Sunday will be mostly sunny, reaching a high of 73°F, with mild winds from the east. Monday turns cloudier with a high of 71°F, and gusts up to 20 mph signal stronger winds. Conditions are expected to stay mostly cloudy through Tuesday, peaking at 77°F.

As Tuesday night approaches, isolated showers may develop, with lows around 63°F. By midweek, scattered showers are anticipated, peaking Wednesday with a 30% chance of precipitation.

For safety, avoid sudden maneuvers on roads and plan for potential delays due to morning fog.
