Peachtree City, GA – Residents across Georgia are being urged to prepare for heavy rainfall on Tuesday as a cold front moves through the region, potentially bringing widespread downpours.
According to the National Weather Service in Peachtree City, a slight risk (level 2 of 4) has been issued for excessive rainfall. The area is expected to receive 1 to 3 inches of rain, with localized totals exceeding 4 inches in some areas. These higher rainfall amounts pose a heightened risk for flash flooding, particularly in low-lying areas.
The weather advisory also includes a reminder for drivers to exercise caution and avoid flooded roadways. “Turn around, don’t drown” remains a critical safety message for those traveling during the storm.
This rainfall is expected to last through Wednesday, with the heaviest precipitation likely to occur during the late afternoon and evening hours on Tuesday. Local authorities are advising residents to monitor weather updates and prepare for possible disruptions.
