Georgetown, DE – A Georgetown man has been arrested for alleged home improvement fraud after police say he took thousands of dollars from clients without completing the promised work.
According to Delaware State Police, 58-year-old Dave Moncavage, who operated under the business name Advanced Interiors, allegedly signed contracts with two victims for construction work and received over $24,000 in payments. However, investigators say he never completed the projects, leading to warrants for his arrest.
On March 12, a state trooper pulled over Moncavage on Mount Zion Road in Seaford after noticing material had fallen from the bed of his Ford F-150. A background check revealed active home improvement fraud warrants, as well as capias warrants. Officers also allegedly found drug paraphernalia in his vehicle.
Moncavage was taken into custody and later released on a $5,000 unsecured bond. He faces felony charges, including home improvement fraud by false impression and fraud against an elderly or disabled victim, along with drug possession and traffic violations.
Authorities urge potential victims to contact Delaware State Police at (302) 856-5850 or Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-847-3333.
