GENEVA, IL – Downtown Geneva will see several street closures and parking restrictions this Sunday, Nov. 2, for the annual Ooh La La Chocolate Run, according to a release from the Geneva Police Department.
The event includes a half marathon, 10K, and 5K beginning early Sunday morning. To prepare, parking will be prohibited on select streets after midnight, and full closures will begin at 4 a.m.
Streets affected include:
- Third Street (James to Franklin)
- Campbell Street (River Lane to Second, and Fifth to Sixth)
- Franklin Street (Second to Sixth)
- Second, Fifth, and Sixth Streets (Campbell to Franklin)
- River Lane (Campbell to South)
Route 31 (South First Street) will remain open, but police warn of periodic traffic stops at Campbell Street to allow runners to cross safely. A detour will direct drivers around the race course using James, Seventh, Fulton, and Third Streets.
Police will manage intersections, but motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and avoid downtown travel between early morning and 11 a.m., when all roads are expected to reopen.
