Gaylord, MI – A mild start to the week is in store for northern Michigan, with temperatures running several degrees above normal for mid-October. According to the US National Weather Service in Gaylord, highs on Monday could reach between 64 and 71 degrees before trending cooler by midweek.
Late-day showers are possible Monday, especially west of Interstate 75, while Tuesday will bring partly sunny skies and a chance of light nighttime rain. Highs Tuesday are forecast to range from 55 to 66 degrees.
By Wednesday and Thursday, conditions are expected to stabilize with mostly sunny skies and highs in the upper 50s. Cooler, more seasonable air will settle in as temperatures return closer to average for this time of year.
Meteorologists note that no severe weather is expected, but drivers may encounter brief wet roads early in the week. The mild temperatures should make for pleasant fall conditions as the region moves toward the middle of October.
Residents are encouraged to stay updated with the latest local forecasts, especially if traveling west of I-75 or during nighttime hours early in the week.
