Gaylord, Mich. – Clear skies will bring cold overnight conditions to northern Michigan, with a frost advisory in effect for much of the region through 9 a.m. Monday. Low temperatures are expected to dip into the mid-30s for inland areas, raising concerns for gardens and crops.

According to the National Weather Service in Gaylord, counties across northern lower Michigan, including Crawford, Otsego, and Montmorency, could see frost form before sunrise. Conditions will be coldest away from the lakeshores, where temperatures may stay closer to the low 40s.

Residents are urged to take precautions tonight by covering sensitive plants or bringing them indoors. Drivers in rural valleys and low-lying areas should also be alert for patchy frost on windshields early Monday. The NWS notes skies will remain mostly clear, allowing for the strongest cooling.

While Monday will bring sunshine and milder afternoon highs, another round of chilly nights is possible early in the week. The frost advisory remains in effect until 9 a.m. Monday, with updates issued if colder air lingers.
