Gary, IN – A Gary man was fatally shot late Friday on the 1800 Block of Clark Street.
According to the Lake County Coroner’s Office, Ja’Quan Richards, 41, was identified at Northlake Methodist Hospital. Authorities were dispatched to the hospital on Friday, where Richards was pronounced dead at 10:18 p.m. following multiple gunshot wounds.
A forensic autopsy conducted on Saturday confirmed the manner of death as homicide. The investigation involves the Gary Police Department, Lake County Sheriff’s Department CSI, and Lake County Prosecutor’s Homicide Task Force.
