Washington, D.C. – A hazardous weather outlook has been issued for northern and central Virginia and central Maryland. Frost and sub-freezing temperatures are expected late tonight, particularly west of Highway 15.
The National Weather Service warns that areas in Maryland, including Washington and Frederick counties, and in Virginia, such as Fauquier and Loudoun counties, could see frost formation. Residents should protect sensitive plants by covering or moving them indoors to prevent damage.
Temperatures are expected to remain cold into early Friday morning, with frost posing a threat to unprotected vegetation. While no further hazardous weather is expected, residents in the affected areas should take precautions. Spotter activation is not anticipated.
