Amarillo, TX – A Frost Advisory has been issued for the Oklahoma Panhandle and the northwest half of the Texas Panhandle, with temperatures expected to dip to around 32°F early Tuesday morning, according to the National Weather Service in Amarillo.

The advisory is in effect from 3 a.m. to 9 a.m. CDT Tuesday, impacting areas including Dalhart, Dumas, Guymon, Beaver, Borger, and Perryton.

Forecasters say overnight frost will likely form as calm winds and clear skies allow temperatures to drop near freezing. The NWS cautions that the cold conditions could kill or damage sensitive vegetation and harm unprotected outdoor plumbing.

Residents are urged to cover garden plants, move potted vegetation indoors, and wrap exposed pipes before temperatures fall overnight.

This frost event marks one of the first significant cold mornings of the fall season for the region. Conditions are expected to warm gradually by late morning, with highs climbing back into the upper 50s and 60s.
