Eureka, CA – A frost advisory remains in effect for Southeastern Mendocino Interior and Southern Lake counties from 2 a.m. to 10 a.m. Thursday as temperatures are expected to drop to 33°F, potentially damaging sensitive plants.
According to the National Weather Service in Eureka, frost formation is likely in areas including Talmage, Lakeport, Clearlake, Middletown, and Hopland. The advisory warns that unprotected outdoor vegetation may suffer damage or be killed by the cold.
Residents are urged to take precautions by covering delicate plants or bringing them indoors. Those in low-lying areas should be especially cautious, as frost tends to settle in valleys and sheltered locations.
While temperatures are expected to rise later in the day, additional cold nights may be possible. Officials recommend staying updated on local forecasts and preparing for continued chilly conditions.
