Cleveland, Ohio – A Frost Advisory has been issued for portions of Northeast Ohio and Northwest Pennsylvania from 2 a.m. to 8 a.m. Saturday. The advisory warns of temperatures as low as 32°F, posing a threat to sensitive outdoor plants.
According to the National Weather Service, residents in the affected areas should take precautions to protect tender vegetation, especially during the early morning hours when frost is most likely to form. In particular, flowers, young plants, and other vegetation susceptible to the cold may be harmed or killed if left uncovered.
Areas impacted by this advisory include parts of northeastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania, stretching from Cleveland and Akron to Erie and Pittsburgh. Homeowners and gardeners should bring sensitive plants indoors or cover them with cloth to reduce the risk of damage.
For pets and outdoor activities, it’s also important to ensure that animals are sheltered from the cold. The frost could pose a risk to small pets left outside, particularly during the overnight hours.
This advisory is in effect early Saturday morning, with temperatures expected to climb once the sun rises. Be prepared to take action before 2 a.m. to protect vulnerable plants.
