Birmingham, AL – A Frost Advisory remains in effect for much of central and northern Alabama early Saturday morning as temperatures dip into the mid-30s, according to the National Weather Service in Birmingham.
The advisory is active from 3 AM to 9 AM CDT Saturday, November 1, covering Jefferson, Shelby, Blount, Calhoun, Talladega, Etowah, Walker, Marion, and surrounding counties.
Forecasters warn that temperatures as low as 36 degrees could lead to frost formation, particularly in rural and sheltered areas. Sensitive outdoor vegetation may be damaged or killed if left unprotected.
Residents across the Birmingham metro, Gadsden, Anniston, and Jasper areas should cover outdoor plants or bring them indoors before temperatures fall overnight. This event could mark one of the first significant frosts of the season for portions of the state.
Conditions are expected to improve after sunrise Saturday as temperatures quickly rebound under clear skies.
