Washington, D.C. – The National Weather Service in Baltimore/Washington has issued a Frost Advisory for the District of Columbia, central and southern Maryland, and northern and central Virginia, in effect from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m. Saturday, October 25, 2025.
According to the National Weather Service, overnight temperatures are expected to dip to around 32 degrees, leading to widespread frost formation across much of the DC metro area, including Fairfax, Arlington, Prince George’s, Anne Arundel, Charles, and Montgomery Counties.
The advisory also extends into Cecil, Calvert, and St. Mary’s Counties in Maryland, and King George County in Virginia. Forecasters warn that unprotected outdoor plants could be damaged or killed if not properly covered or brought indoors.
The chilly conditions will mark one of the coldest mornings of the fall season, as clear skies and light winds allow temperatures to fall rapidly overnight.
Residents are advised to protect tender vegetation, drain hoses, and ensure pets and outdoor animals have warm shelter before sunrise Saturday. Temperatures will rebound into the mid-50s by afternoon with sunshine returning.
