Wilmington, NC – The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a Frost Advisory for parts of inland southeastern North Carolina and northeastern South Carolina, effective from 5 AM to 10 AM EDT Saturday, November 1.
The advisory includes Inland Pender County, North Carolina, and Marlboro County, South Carolina, including the cities of Burgaw, Bennettsville, and McColl. Forecasters say temperatures could dip to around 36 degrees, allowing frost to form in sheltered and low-lying areas early Saturday morning.
Officials warn that frost could harm or kill sensitive outdoor plants if not properly covered. Residents are encouraged to bring potted plants indoors or cover exposed vegetation overnight to prevent damage.
This advisory signals one of the first cold mornings of the fall season for the region, following a stretch of mild late-October weather. Temperatures are expected to rebound into the upper 50s and lower 60s later in the day Saturday under mostly sunny skies.
