Davenport, IA – Frigid temperatures and dangerously low wind chills will grip eastern Iowa this week as an Arctic air mass moves in. Residents should prepare for bitter cold, with wind chills dropping as low as -25 degrees by Tuesday.

According to the National Weather Service, a Cold Weather Advisory remains in effect until Monday at 11 a.m., with another advisory set for Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. High temperatures Tuesday will only reach 7°F, with wind chills making it feel much colder. By Wednesday, a 30% chance of snow enters the forecast, adding to travel concerns.

The five-day outlook brings some relief, with sunshine returning Thursday and temperatures gradually rising into the weekend. However, overnight lows will remain dangerously cold, dropping below zero through midweek.

Officials urge residents to limit time outdoors, bundle up, and check on vulnerable individuals and pets. Frostbite can occur in as little as 30 minutes in these conditions.

Stay updated with the latest forecast, and take extra precautions as Iowa endures one of its coldest weeks of the season.
