Glasgow, MT – Eastern Montana remains under an Extreme Cold Warning as dangerously low wind chills continue through Tuesday morning. With temperatures plunging to -30°F and wind chills as low as -45°F, frostbite can occur in under 10 minutes.
According to the National Weather Service, the warning affects Glasgow, Wolf Point, Circle, Sidney, and surrounding areas. The brutal cold will persist overnight and into Tuesday, with slightly warmer conditions expected midweek. Highs on Tuesday will reach only 3°F, and overnight lows will drop below -20°F again.
Residents are advised to limit time outdoors, wear multiple layers, and cover all exposed skin. Wind chills this extreme increase the risk of frostbite and hypothermia, especially for those without proper winter gear.
By Wednesday, temperatures will improve slightly, reaching a high of 1°F, but cold conditions will continue into Thursday. A gradual warming trend is expected by the weekend, with highs near 9°F on Thursday.
Travelers should use caution, as icy roads and reduced visibility are likely. For updates, visit Montana DOT and the National Weather Service.
