Gray, ME – A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 7 p.m. Monday to 4 a.m. Tuesday for portions of western Maine and northern New Hampshire. Light freezing rain and drizzle are expected, creating hazardous travel conditions.

The National Weather Service warns that up to one-tenth of an inch of ice could accumulate, particularly on untreated roads and sidewalks. Areas including Bethel, Rangeley, Farmington, and North Conway are likely to see the greatest impact.

According to the advisory, drivers should slow down and use caution while traveling, especially on side roads that may not be treated. Residents are also urged to take extra care on stairs and sidewalks, which could become dangerously slippery.

The freezing precipitation is expected to taper off by early Tuesday morning, but icy conditions may linger during the morning commute.
