Little Rock, AR – Patchy freezing fog and icy roads are creating hazardous travel conditions across central Arkansas this morning, with visibility dropping below a half mile in some areas. The National Weather Service has warned drivers to exercise caution, particularly on roads like Interstate 30, where black ice could pose significant risks.

According to the National Weather Service, freezing fog is expected through 9 a.m., forming as temperatures hover below freezing. This phenomenon may result in slick conditions on roads, bridges, and overpasses. Drivers are advised to slow down, use low-beam headlights, and allow extra time to reach destinations safely.

By late morning, temperatures are expected to climb above freezing, with sunny skies and a high near 56°F forecast for the afternoon. Calm winds will contribute to better driving conditions later in the day.

Looking ahead, the weather in Little Rock and surrounding areas will remain clear through midweek. Tuesday will see sunny skies and a high of 44°F, with light winds becoming stronger by the afternoon. Rain chances return Wednesday afternoon, with temperatures reaching 52°F before dropping to the upper 30s overnight.

To stay safe, residents should monitor local weather updates and plan for potential delays during the morning commute.
