Tulsa, OK – Freezing fog is expected to linger across parts of eastern Oklahoma overnight, reducing visibility and creating slick roads. Motorists traveling along major highways, including I-44 and U.S. 412, should prepare for limited visibility and icy patches before conditions improve Sunday morning.

According to the National Weather Service in Tulsa, patchy freezing fog will develop after midnight Saturday, potentially causing localized visibility to drop below a mile. Slick spots may form on untreated roads, particularly bridges and overpasses. Drivers are encouraged to use low beams, reduce speeds, and allow extra travel time.

While freezing fog may dissipate by midmorning Sunday, cooler-than-average temperatures are forecast to persist. Sunday’s high is expected to reach 42°F under partly cloudy skies, with lows dropping to 18°F Sunday night. Calm conditions will give way to sunny skies Monday, with temperatures reaching 35°F by afternoon.

Looking ahead to the week, sunshine is expected to dominate through Wednesday, accompanied by gradual warming. Tuesday’s high will reach 42°F, followed by 45°F Wednesday. By Thursday, daytime highs may approach 55°F, providing relief from the weekend chill. Winds will remain light throughout the week, with no significant precipitation expected.

Residents should remain vigilant for icy conditions early Sunday but can look forward to drier and sunnier weather through midweek. For up-to-date forecasts, visit weather.gov/tulsa.
