Tucson, AZ – The National Weather Service in Tucson has issued a Freeze Watch for eastern Cochise County below 5,000 feet and the Upper Gila River Valley, in effect from late tonight through Thursday morning (Oct. 30, 2025).

Forecasters expect overnight lows between 30 and 34°F, particularly in low-lying drainage areas like the Sulphur Springs Valley. These conditions could damage sensitive vegetation, crops, and unprotected outdoor plumbing if proper precautions aren’t taken.

Residents are advised to cover or bring in plants, drain or insulate outdoor pipes, and safeguard pets and livestock from the cold.

Temperatures should gradually rebound later Thursday morning under mostly sunny skies.
