Tulsa, OK – After a stretch of warm fall weather, a powerful cold front is set to sweep across eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas late Sunday, sending temperatures plunging into the 20s by early Monday morning.
According to the US National Weather Service Tulsa, a Freeze Watch is in effect from 9 p.m. Sunday to 9 a.m. Monday (Nov. 9–10, 2025). The system will bring gusty northwest winds, sharply colder air, and wind chills dropping into the teens overnight Sunday into Monday.
The cold front is expected to move through Saturday afternoon, ushering in much colder, windy conditions across the region. By Sunday, highs will only reach the 40s and 50s before temperatures tumble after sunset.
Forecasters warn that a hard freeze is likely, with damage to sensitive vegetation possible. Residents are urged to cover outdoor faucets, bring pets inside, and protect plants ahead of the overnight cold.
Wind gusts between 25–35 mph will accompany the front, making it feel even colder. The chill will linger into early next week, with Monday morning lows near 20°F in some rural areas.
Meteorologists advise monitoring local forecasts and taking precautions now to prevent cold-related damage. Updates are available at weather.gov/Tulsa.
