Los Angeles, CA – Southern California residents are bracing for freezing temperatures and gusty winds lasting through Tuesday morning. Overnight lows are expected to dip into the 20s and 30s across the region, posing risks for plants, animals, and individuals outdoors.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) Los Angeles/Oxnard, a freeze warning remains in effect tonight. Areas such as Big Pine Mountain and Santa Clarita may experience lows of 28–34 degrees Fahrenheit. Hypothermia risks remain high for exposed individuals, prompting officials to urge precautions.

Wind gusts up to 52 mph are also expected in parts of Los Angeles County, especially in mountainous and coastal areas. The NWS advises drivers to remain alert for flying debris and swerving vehicles. Boaters are urged to stay anchored.

Residents should bring pets and sensitive plants indoors to mitigate damage. Officials also recommend securing loose objects to prevent hazards from strong winds.

Tuesday is expected to bring slightly warmer conditions with highs near 71 degrees, though cold nights will persist through the week.
