Pittsburgh, PA – The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a Freeze Warning for portions of eastern Ohio, northern West Virginia, and southwestern Pennsylvania as temperatures are expected to dip to or below 32°F overnight, lasting from midnight to 9 a.m. Saturday, October 25, 2025.
Forecasters expect overnight lows in the upper 20s to lower 30s, marking one of the coldest nights of the season so far. Areas most at risk include Zanesville, Wheeling, Washington, and Greensburg, where skies are expected to clear, allowing temperatures to fall quickly after sunset.
The NWS advises residents to protect sensitive outdoor vegetation and insulate exposed plumbing to prevent damage from freezing temperatures. Those with outdoor pets should also ensure they have adequate shelter and warmth.
A small portion of northwestern Pennsylvania may remain slightly warmer due to lingering cloud cover, but most of the region is expected to experience a hard freeze by early morning.
Temperatures will gradually rebound into the 50s by Saturday afternoon, but another round of frost or freezing conditions may return early next week.
