Charleston, WV – A freeze warning is in effect for several areas in West Virginia, Ohio, and Kentucky, with sub-freezing temperatures expected overnight tonight. The National Weather Service issued the freeze warning from 2 a.m. to 10 a.m. Tuesday for parts of the region, including Charleston and surrounding cities.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures could drop as low as 25°F in some areas. In addition, a freeze watch will be in effect from Tuesday evening through Wednesday morning, with temperatures possibly dipping to as low as 21°F. This cold snap could harm crops, sensitive vegetation, and unprotected plumbing.

The freeze warning covers areas including Greenup, Boyd, and Lawrence Counties in Kentucky, as well as parts of West Virginia and Ohio. In West Virginia, cities like Charleston, Huntington, and Logan are included, while Ohio’s Athens and Parkersburg are also under alert.
