Albany, GA – A Freeze Warning and Cold Weather Advisory remain in effect for portions of southwest Georgia and southeast Alabama from 1 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Tallahassee, temperatures could drop to 24°F, with wind chills as low as 16°F in areas including Albany, Bainbridge, and Dothan, AL.
Residents should bring pets indoors, protect exposed pipes, and dress warmly if heading outside. Agricultural officials warn that the cold could damage crops and sensitive vegetation.
Warmer temperatures are expected by Friday afternoon, but another cold front may develop early next week.
