Franklin County, MO – A stolen vehicle investigation in Franklin County led to two arrests Sunday after witnesses reported seeing a truck loaded onto a trailer and driven away from a residential development near Highway N.
According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy was contacted on Sunday, December 14, regarding a stolen vehicle report. The victim told deputies the truck was last seen Saturday, December 13, after experiencing mechanical issues while driving on Highway N. The vehicle was pulled into the entrance of the Lake Arrowhead development, where the owner believed it had been secured overnight.
When the victim returned Sunday morning, the truck was gone. Deputies entered the vehicle as stolen and began investigating the incident.
During the investigation, witnesses reported seeing suspects loading the truck onto a trailer before leaving the scene. Deputies later learned the vehicle and suspects were possibly located at a residence in the 300 block of Pine Boulevard in Lonedell.
As deputies responded to the address, they made contact with the suspects, who allegedly admitted to stealing the vehicle, according to the sheriff’s office. The truck was located behind the residence, concealed from view. Authorities said several parts had already been removed from the vehicle.
The vehicle was towed from the scene, and both suspects were arrested and transported to the Franklin County Adult Detention Facility.
Deputies obtained in-custody felony warrants through the Franklin County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for James Thrash, a 41-year-old man, and Krissie Hawkins, a 31-year-old woman, both from the Lonedell area. The suspects face charges of first-degree property damage involving damage to a motor vehicle with intent to steal and receiving stolen property.
Bond was set at $15,000 cash only.
All parties are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
