Frankfort, KY – Kentucky will wrap up another unseasonably warm day today, with breezy conditions and highs climbing into the mid-70s to upper 70s across much of the state. But a major shift in the weather pattern is on the way, with cooler air set to move in Sunday and Monday.

According to the US National Weather Service Paducah, a cold front will pass through Kentucky tonight. Rain is not expected with this front, but temperatures will fall sharply, returning to more seasonal levels by Sunday morning. Highs Sunday will range from the low 50s in northern areas to the upper 60s in the south, accompanied by plenty of sunshine.

Monday brings a more active setup as a weather system arrives from the west. Forecasters say showers and scattered thunderstorms are possible Monday afternoon through Monday night, with some storms lingering into early Tuesday. Overnight lows Monday will drop into the low 30s in the northeast and low 40s in southwestern counties.

Tuesday will feature mainly morning showers, although a few storms are still possible. Highs will remain mild, reaching into the upper 60s. By Wednesday, scattered showers may continue, with temperatures staying in the upper 50s to low 70s depending on location.

Drivers and residents across western and central Kentucky—including Paducah, Owensboro, Bowling Green, and surrounding counties—should be prepared for changing conditions as temperatures fall and rain chances increase early next week. While severe weather is not currently expected, any thunderstorms Monday night could produce brief downpours.
