Frankfort, IL – The Frankfort Police Department has advised residents of two events scheduled for today that are expected to impact local traffic and pedestrian activity.

According to the Frankfort Police Department, officers will participate in the Special Olympics Torch Run this morning. Motorists should anticipate slowed traffic along LaGrange Road around 11:00 a.m. The department encourages the community to support the runners as they participate in this charitable event.

Additionally, the Frankfort Park District’s “Short Run on a Long Day” event will take place this evening in Downtown Frankfort. Authorities anticipate increased pedestrian activity in the area during this time. The Frankfort Police Department advises individuals to avoid Downtown Frankfort if possible during the event and to exercise extra caution if traveling nearby.
