Frankfort, IL – Families across Will County will have a full weekend of holiday festivities to look forward to next month as the Village of Frankfort prepares to host its annual “Home for the Holidays” celebration on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 13–14, from noon to 5 p.m. at Breidert Green.
According to village officials, the free event brings small-town holiday charm to downtown Frankfort with two days of family-friendly activities, live entertainment, and festive displays.
Saturday’s schedule features a lineup “straight out of a snow globe,” including trackless train rides, real reindeer encounters, visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus, a lantern parade, horse and carriage rides, and holiday treats such as cookies, cocoa, and other seasonal favorites. Village leaders encourage families to arrive early, as many activities draw large crowds.
On Sunday, visitors can continue exploring downtown Frankfort while enjoying live performances on the Breidert Green stage. Strolling holiday characters will make their way through the area, spreading cheer throughout the afternoon.
The festival is designed to offer a welcoming and festive experience for residents, shoppers, and families seeking low-cost seasonal activities. Local businesses in the historic downtown district typically see increased foot traffic during the event, and organizers encourage attendees to shop local while enjoying the holiday atmosphere.
The event is free and open to the public, and parking is available throughout the downtown area.
