Green Bay, WI – A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 a.m. Sunday, as moderate to heavy snow continues across parts of central, east-central, and northeast Wisconsin, making roads slick and travel hazardous overnight.
According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, areas including Green Bay, Appleton, Manitowoc, Wausau, Door County, and Stevens Point could see an additional 2 to 4 inches of snow, bringing storm totals to 5 to 9 inches by early morning.
Forecasters say visibility may drop quickly in heavier snow bands, especially in the Fox Valley and lakeshore regions, where snow will linger through the early morning hours. Drivers on major routes such as I-41, U.S. 10, and Highway 29 should expect snow-covered roads and slow travel conditions.
Officials urge motorists to delay travel if possible, and to keep flashlights, blankets, and water in vehicles for emergencies. Those traveling for the weekend or returning from holiday events should use caution, reduce speed, and allow extra time.
Snow is expected to taper off around sunrise, but icy and snow-packed roads will likely persist into the morning commute. Temperatures are expected to remain below freezing, keeping surfaces slick.
