Homewood, IL – The Village of Homewood is set to celebrate Independence Day with its annual Fourth of July parade on Thursday at 10 a.m. The parade will commence at the Homewood Fire Department and proceed to Dixie Highway, where it will turn east on Ridge Road. A quiet zone is designated for the first stretch of the parade from Dixie Highway to Ridge Road.
According to the Village of Homewood, Dixie Highway will be closed from Harwood Avenue to Ridge Road, Elm Road from Harwood Avenue to Dixie Highway, and Chestnut Road from Harwood Avenue to Dixie Highway and Ridge Road. Additional closures will include Martin Avenue to Lions Club Pool. These street closures will begin at 8 a.m. and remain in effect until approximately 1 p.m.
After the parade, attendees are encouraged to head to Izaak Walton for more Fourth of July festivities. These include various activities and family-friendly events designed to celebrate the holiday.
