PADUCAH, Ky. – Ideal fall weather is on tap for Halloween evening across the lower Ohio Valley, with clear skies, light winds, and mild temperatures gradually cooling into the 50s as trick-or-treaters make their rounds Friday night.
According to the National Weather Service in Paducah, temperatures will start near 60 to 64 degrees in the early evening and slip into the upper 40s to lower 50s by 9 p.m. Skies will remain mostly clear across southern Illinois, southeast Missouri, southwest Indiana, and western Kentucky, creating nearly perfect conditions for outdoor Halloween events.
After midnight, readings will fall sharply, especially in rural areas, where frost is possible late Friday night into early Saturday. Light winds and clear skies will help temperatures drop into the mid-30s, with the coolest air settling in valleys and open farmland.
Forecasters say the region’s dry pattern will hold into the weekend, continuing the trend of crisp mornings and sunny afternoons through Sunday. Trick-or-treaters should bundle up in light layers for the evening chill, while homeowners are advised to cover sensitive plants ahead of potential frost.
