Durango, CO – After a warm start to November, the Four Corners region could see a quick flip to winter before Thanksgiving, according to the NOAA Climate Prediction Center (CPC).

In NOAA’s October 24, 2025, outlook, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, and Utah are forecast to experience above-normal temperatures and mostly dry conditions through the first half of the month. However, a shift in the upper-air pattern could allow colder Pacific air and mountain snow to return by mid- to late November.

Forecasters say that around November 15–22, the Four Corners may see a developing trough from the West Coast bringing light to moderate snow across the San Juan Mountains, northern Arizona peaks, and southern Utah ranges. Even lower elevations in northern New Mexico could see brief flurries or frosty mornings as Thanksgiving week approaches.

Travelers heading into the mountains should prepare for slick passes and changing weather, as early-season systems can strengthen quickly across the region.
