Fort Worth, Texas – Scattered showers and thunderstorms are set to develop across North and Central Texas this afternoon, with rain and isolated storms lingering overnight along the I-35 corridor. While forecasters are not calling for severe weather, residents should be prepared for localized heavy rainfall, frequent lightning, and gusty winds.
According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, the highest rain chances will be in and around the Dallas–Fort Worth area, extending toward Canton and Palestine, with heavier pockets expected west near Cisco. These storms may cause brief street flooding in low-lying or poor drainage areas, especially during the evening commute.
Drivers should reduce speed on wet roads, avoid flooded intersections, and be prepared for sudden lightning. Outdoor activities, particularly in open areas, should be paused when storms approach. Winds could briefly gust above 30 mph in stronger cells.
Rain activity is expected to diminish by early Wednesday, though some isolated showers may linger south of the Metroplex. Additional storm chances could return later this week as humid conditions persist.
