Fort Worth, TX – A Freeze Warning has been issued for much of North and Central Texas, including the Fort Worth, Waco, and Killeen areas, as temperatures are expected to plunge into the upper 20s to lower 30s overnight. According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, the warning remains in effect from 9 p.m. Sunday through 9 a.m. Monday.
Forecasters say temperatures could drop as low as 25°F in some areas, marking the coldest morning of the season so far. The warning now extends farther south to include more Central Texas counties.
Residents are urged to protect sensitive plants, pets, and exposed pipes, and to turn off outdoor sprinklers to prevent icy conditions on sidewalks and driveways. Motorists should also plan for a chilly morning commute as frost may develop in some areas.
The cold snap will be brief, with temperatures expected to rebound by Monday afternoon, but the early-season freeze serves as a reminder that winter weather is quickly approaching for much of Texas.
