FORT WORTH, Texas – Storm activity will linger across North Texas through Tuesday afternoon, with an uptick in coverage expected as the day progresses. While no severe weather is anticipated, residents should prepare for brief downpours, frequent lightning, and occasional gusty winds that could impact afternoon travel.
According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, isolated storms this morning will become more widespread by mid-afternoon, especially in the Dallas–Fort Worth area, Sherman, Canton, and surrounding communities. Hazards include localized flooding in low-lying areas, lightning strikes, and winds that may briefly exceed 30 mph.
Highs will reach the 90s, and humidity will keep conditions muggy between storms. Drivers are advised to slow down during heavy rain and avoid flooded roadways. Those with outdoor plans should have a shelter option nearby in case lightning develops.
Storm chances will gradually taper off tonight, but more unsettled weather could return later this week.
