Fort Worth, TX – Residents in Fort Worth should brace for one of the hottest days of the week Monday as heat index values climb past 103° by midafternoon, bringing increased risks for heat exhaustion and dehydration.

According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, Monday will be sunny with an actual high near 97°, but humidity will push the “feels like” temperature several degrees higher. Winds will remain light, offering little relief. The heat threat is expected to peak between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., affecting the entire Tarrant County metro area, especially those spending extended time outdoors.

City officials recommend limiting strenuous outdoor activity during peak heat, wearing lightweight clothing, and keeping water on hand. Vulnerable groups, including young children, older adults, and outdoor workers, should take extra precautions.

While Monday marks the week’s most intense heat, temperatures will remain in the upper 90s through Wednesday with only slight chances for isolated thunderstorms late Tuesday and Wednesday. The region will not see meaningful relief until late week.
