Fort Worth, TX – Strong north winds and falling temperatures will impact North and Central Texas on Saturday, creating breezy travel conditions along major highways and interstates.
According to the National Weather Service Fort Worth, a cold front is pushing through the region, bringing sustained north winds between 15 and 25 mph, with gusts up to 35 mph. Winds will be strongest through the afternoon before gradually decreasing overnight.
Daytime highs will reach the upper 50s to mid-60s across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, including areas along Interstate 35W and Interstate 20. Waco and Temple may see highs in the upper 60s, while parts of the Brazos Valley could briefly approach 70 degrees before cooler air settles in later Saturday.
Overnight, skies are expected to remain clear as winds diminish. Temperatures will drop near or below freezing in several areas. Lows are forecast around 29 degrees in Graham and Cisco, near 33 degrees in Sherman and Paris, and mid-30s across DFW, Waco, Killeen, and surrounding communities.
Looking ahead, warmer temperatures are expected to return by midweek. Highs could climb into the 70s Tuesday and reach the low to mid-80s by Wednesday across North and Central Texas. While no rainfall is currently expected, breezy conditions midweek may elevate fire weather concerns.
Drivers of high-profile vehicles on I-35, I-30, and I-45 should use caution during peak wind periods Saturday afternoon. Students and weekend travelers may experience brisk outdoor conditions but improving weather by early next week.
